PRESS RELEASE

Folklore Canada International is pleased to announce the 2007 Exchange happening in Canada with its Associate Members of the Filipino Community between British Columbia and Toronto – through SEVEC under the Exchange Canada Program

From July 25 to July 30, 2007, Folklorico Filipino of Toronto will be hosted by the group of British Columbia PHILCAS (Philippine Cultural Art Society of British Columbia). A 14 member delegation lead by Bobby Gabat.

From August 24 to September 1, 2007, PHILCAS will be hosted by Folklorico in Toronto, a 15 member delegation from British Columbia, lead by Aimee Jo Milendres and Paula Cruz, who are under the training of former Bayanihan dancers, Tonette and Nes Gatus.

This is PhilCAS' second exchange and it would greatly improve the kids' vision of learning from one another the Philippine heritage through dance and music as both group members are mostly Canadian born who are unaware of their Filipino values, tradition and lore.
